It is the first investment approved under the ACCEL initiative launched by ADB and the Government of Japan in May 2026, with up to USD 100 million provided through the JICA-funded, ADB-administered LEAP2 fund. The project converts an existing natural gas-based ammonia and urea facility into a renewable-powered green ammonia plant with about 1.1 million t/y capacity, developed in two phases with the first phase targeted for commissioning in March 2029.
